Our Boats

You're Skippers Canyon jet boat was custom built specifically to operate in the upper Shotover River. Queenstown Constructed from heavy gauge aluminum, the jetboats are designed for maximum strength and maneuverability.

Skippers Canyon jet’s boats are powered by Chevrolet v8 engines producing 450 horsepower and operate on high octane aviation fuel.

The thrust comes via a Hamilton jet 212 jet unit pumping 25000 liters of water per minute.

How your jet works:

Water is sucked up through an intake grill located on the underside of the hull; an internal propeller thrusts the water through the jet unit at a rate of 25,000 liters of water per minute, this water pressure is expelled from the unit creating forward thrust, up to 85km per hour.
