Why choose Skippers Canyon Jet?

Skippers Canyon Jet is the best value Jet Boat Tour in Queenstown and offers a stunning scenic drive into Skippers Canyon with bus driver commentary followed by an adrenaline fuelled jet boat ride through the most dramatic canyons of the Shotover River. It is essentially two trips in one. We are also a family run business who date back 5 generations in the canyon.

What is the child age?

3 – 15 years old.

Is there a height restriction?

1 metre.

What constitutes a Family Pack?

2 adults and 1 child. Extra kids are charged at the child rate.

How long is the jet boat ride itself?

25 mins.

How long is the trip in total?

2.5 to 3 hours for the Jet Boat Tour.

Will I get wet?

You’ll get spray from the spins but you won’t get soaked – we have spray jackets if you require one.

What shall I wear?

We recommend dressing for the weather and wearing sunglasses/normal glasses, even on a cloudy day. In winter wrap up extra warm with jacket, gloves and a hat, in summer bring insect repellent, a hat, sunglasses, water.

Can I bring my GoPro/Camera on the boat?

Yes of course, however this is at your own risk. You’ll be asked to sit at the back of the boat if you want to wave your selfie-stick around.

Will there be somewhere to leave belongings?

Your belongings will be locked and secure on the bus whilst you are on the boat.

Can I self drive into Skippers Canyon?

No – Rental cars are not insured on Skippers Road and because of the nature of the road we provide transport to and from Queenstown. The drive is also part of the trip.

Can I participate in the trip if I am pregnant or have an injury?

We cannot take anyone who is pregnant on the bus or boat ride. If you have a back injury we do not advise participating in the trip. Please let us know of any injuries you may have.

Do I need to book?

Where do trips depart from?

Trips depart from the bus stop on the Camp St side of the Station Building in the center of Queenstown. The Google Maps address: 43 Camp St. Please be ready to go 10mins prior to trip departure time.

Is there parking nearby?

There are numerous parking options in Queenstown but please allow time to find a park and walk to the Station Building. Trips run to a strict schedule so we cannot wait for late arrivals. Click here to access the Queenstown Parking map.
